Frankincense- The “father” of all oils,
Frankincense has been “used to treat every conceivable ill known to man.” The holy anointing oil, frankincense is
mentioned in the bible dozens of times and was valued more than gold in ancient
times. Prized for its antitumoral,
immune-stimulating, antidepressant and muscle relaxing properties, frankincense
is widely used in the treatment of depression, cancer, respiratory infections
and inflammation. High in
sesquiterpenes, which stimulate the limbic system (the brains center for memory
and emotions) frankincense, is used to promote spiritual awareness.

Myrrh- Most
commonly known in modern times as one of the three gifts of the magi, given to
baby Jesus, Myrrh is a very spiritual
oil high in sesquiterpenes (which stimulate the limbic system of the brain), hypothalamus, pineal and pituitary
glands. Myrrh was also noted in the
Ebers Papyrus (a sixteenth century B.C., Egyptian medical record), for its amazing
ability to heal many skin conditions.
With a wide array of uses, Myrrh is a powerful antioxidant, antitumoral
and anti-inflammatory oil.

Cedarwood- Recognized for its calming and purifying properties,
Cedarwood was proven in clinical studies conducted by Terry Friedmann MD, to be
an effective treatment for children with ADD and ADHD. Stimulating to the pineal gland which
produces melatonin, Cedarwood improves sleep.

Cypress- The Greek word ‘sempervirens’
for which the botanical name is derived (Cupressus
sempervirens) means to “live forever.”
Known to improve circulation and strengthen blood capillaries while
being anti-infectious and antispasmodic, the Cypress tree has been used for
centuries to build boats, sarcophagi and statues. Legend says the cross of Jesus was made of
cypress.

Aloes (Sandalwood) - Used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries, Sandlewood has
recently been studied by Brigham Young University and shows the ability to
inhibit many types of cancer. Antitumoral,
antiviral and immune stimulating, Sandalwood, like Frankincense and Myrrh, is
also high in sesquiterpenes. Its
fragrance is known to enhance deep sleep and be grounding and stabilizing.

Cassia- Anti-inflammatory, antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral,
Cassia has a similar fragrance to cinnamon, though they are chemically and
physically very different. Noted in the
Ebers Papyrus, Cassia has been used for centuries against fungal infections and
athero- and arteriosclerosis.

Spikenard- Antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, immune
stimulating and relaxing, Spikenard is highly regarded in India as a medicinal
herb and was one of the most precious oils in ancient times. References in the New Testament describe how
Mary used a salve of Spikenard to anoint the feet of Jesus before the Last
supper.

Hyssop- Used medicinally for thousands of years for its antiseptic
properties, Hyssop is also anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral,

fragrance stimulates creativity and improves meditation.
